The team worked on the first draft for manuals: one for doctors and one for patients. At the same time, we worked on the CAD design for the bulb with the color sensor at the bottom of the bulb.

The team worked on user manuals, final design (CAD sketch), and patient survey. The client provided a lot of helpful leads and comments on our design.

The client has a question about the exact date, time, and virtual link to BME Demo day.

This week’s main focus was the Verification & Validation (V&V) report. The team met up on Monday and Wednesday in Professor Widder’s lab space to build the Arduino circuit and test the sensors. The work was divided equally among the team members. Conference calls were set up when members worked on their parts of the V&V report.

The team also met with Dr. Klaesner to discuss on FDA procedure for the proposed device and clarify on some verification tests and the validation model. A medical drain bulb from the OR was provided by the client, Dr. Chet Hammill, for the final packaging of the sensors. The team constantly updated Dr. Hammill with the progress over emails.

The next plans are to 3D print a draining bulb using flexible filaments and start the verification tests.
